#TAMRU (The Arch Monthly Round-up) is our twist on a competition, where instead of climbers competing against one another, they help us raise money for UK charities. Each problem of the 30x V0-V8 reset climbed equals a 50p donation we make to the charity of the month. Free scorecards will be available from 6pm and we welcome anybody that wishes to take part. If you want to climb great problems in a supportive, encouraging atmosphere & raise money for charity for free, this is the evening for you.
A bit about F.R.I.E.N.D. Animal Rescue, the #TAMRU charity of the month...
A beautiful 10 acre site nestled in between the orchards and hopfarms of rural Kent. Established in 1994 with the purchase of a small lamb at a livestock market. Marion Eaton set forth on a path that would see hundreds of animals find refuge from abuse, neglect and suffering under her care, at FRIEND.
Today, FRIEND is a working animal sancuary with around 100 farm animals and companion animals. Animals find their way here in all sorts of ways. Some are rescued from places of abuse, some arrive following the death of their guardian. Some despicable people abandon their animals by throwing them over the fence. No matter how they get here, they are all welcome to live the rest of their lives as naturally as possible with little human interaction.
FRIEND offers a no kill, free roaming (as far as possible and safe) home to cows, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys. Their 30+ pigs live in their own paddock with wallows. Some of the cats are feral and some are house dwellers. All the dogs get to enjoy walks in the meadows.
#TAMRU events are totally free to enter (normal entrance costs apply) and all money raised will be donated to the charity by The Arch Climbing Wall.
Friday 29th April, 6pm.
