It's the end of another long month, and summer has been and gone (and been and gone) already. But fear not - as the sands of time slip inexorably through our hands, it also means that another #TAMRU is upon us!
This one is set to be an epic - with music from our resident DJ Sean (who doubles up as a routesetter too), a hot food stall complete with vegan options, and at least 30 new problems from V0-V8 looking bright and fresh on the competition wall, this time set by an all star cast: Niky (formerly Stuntwerk head setter), Matt Cousins (GB Team, Arch Team), Holly & Jake.
This month there'll also be three bonus "super flowy" movement style traverses along the top out wall. Some useful beta for the traverses: There is no spoon.
Best of all though, this month each climb you complete on the comp wall will raise 50p for Special Effect - the gamers charity. The charity this month was recommended by John from the maintenance team. In Special Effect's own words:
We put fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games.
By using technology ranging from modified joypads to eye-control, we're finding a way for people to play to the very best of their abilities.
But we're not just doing it for fun. By levelling the playing field, we're bringing families and friends together and having a profoundly positive impact on therapy, confidence and rehabilitation.
What an awesome charity, right?
As always, #TAMRU is free to enter and is suitable for all climbing abilities. Just come along to the comp wall at The Biscuit Factory around 6pm, stop by the table and we'll give you a scorecard.
In the meantime, please share this and get your friends along for a great night of climbing, eating and nodding along to music for a great cause.
